Craig Thomas, a dedicated PGA Professional who won a Golf Foundation Award last year for his work developing golf amongst disabled children, is continuing with his efforts to make the sport accessible to all. He has announced that he will be running a new golf programme for disabled children in Staffordshire.
West Bradford Golf Club’s efforts to reach out to the local community have boosted grass roots junior golf and won praise from leading golf charity the Golf Foundation.
Now is the time to think about whether members of your golf club have the coolness under pressure to take on one of the very best in the world, in the Golf Foundation’s ‘Charity Challenge’.
The Golf Foundation has announced the launch of a new grant-aid scheme that will provide funding for projects where the development of life skills is the primary purpose using golf as the catalyst. The scheme, called ‘HSBC Golf Roots Plus’, will provide up to £2,500 of project funding to local delivery partners such as youth services, local authorities, police services or partnership of schools.
The Golf Foundation is calling on all supporters of young people in sport to nominate deserving recipients for the leading golf charity’s Presidents’ Awards.
