Where do you go to get started?

If you're interested in taking up golf then a great place to start is at a golf facility that is registered as a Golf Roots Centre.

These are facilities that are committed to running courses for beginners at little or no cost and where basic child protection measures are being followed. All young people are registered on the Junior Golf Passport, the National Learning Programme for England, Wales and Scotland.

The emphasis is on learning through fun via games and activities delivered by a qualified PGA Coach.

To find the nearest Golf Roots Centre simply go to the feature on the left of this page and click on the down arrow to find your county. You will then be provided with a list of centres in your area together with a contact name and telephone number.

If you live close to a county border then don't forget to look at the list for the neighbouring county.
