New Schools Programme - Free webinar for PGA ProfessionalsIf you are a PGA Professional interested in finding out all about our new Schools Programme, the Golf Foundation is hosting a live webinar on January 19 which is free of charge.
If you have already registered your interest or would like to find out more about the programme that uses the new Golfway equipment, provides six prescriptive session plans and teaches life skills through golf, simply follow this link.
Using the exciting new format, ‘Golfway’, our new Primary Schools Programme is designed to enhance children’s wellbeing by making the introduction of golf to young people fun, inclusive and enriching. The adapted Golfway equipment is bright and colourful, big and bold, so that pupils achieve success straight away.
Golfway sessions can easily be adapted to the ability of pupils from all backgrounds. Life skills are taught through the games, helping build confidence, resilience and self-reflection. A memorable and enjoyable experience is then encouraged at the local golf club, assisting the school to begin a community link with a golf facility which has accredited safeguarding in place. PGA Professionals are at the heart of our schools programme for 2022.
Schools Training Workshop for Teachers and PGA Coaches – to be launched in February
Watch out for the launch of a new training workshop on the schools programme for PGA Coaches and Teachers.
Our team of seven Regional Development Officers (RDOs) are creating a series of Golfway Primary School Activator Workshops in February/March across England, and SGOs, teachers and PGA Professionals should ‘watch this space’: you will receive an invitation in the next few weeks to a workshop in your area.
Andy Leigh, who leads on schools for the Golf Foundation, said: “We will be delighted to meet you and discover how we can work together to help more youngsters thrive through golf, and it starts with Golfway in our schools!
“We are confident that our golf and education professionals will want to explore how they can enhance the physical and mental health of children, while offering them a great new game to learn with their friends. So keep an eye out online, including on our social media, for an invitation to sign up to our workshops in the near future.”
