GolfSixes LeagueHow it Works
GolfSixes League is a vibrant, fast-paced initiative designed to transition young beginners from the practice range to the golf course. By providing a fun, team-based environment, the programme removes traditional barriers to entry, focusing on "Golf for Good" and the development of essential life skills alongside technical ability.
01The playing format
The league utilises a highly inclusive Texas Scramble format, ensuring that every child — regardless of their current skill level — can contribute to their team's success. Matches are contested over six shortened holes (maximum 150 yards), designed to be completed in approximately 75 to 90 minutes to suit younger attention spans.
02The Squad
Each club identifies a squad of 12 players, with six selected for each fixture. Mixed-gender teams are strongly encouraged to promote inclusivity and diversity within the junior section.
03Eligibility
The GolfSixes League format is designed for non-handicap players, or those with a handicap of 37 and
above
04Scoring
A simple 1–10 point system is used. If a player reaches 10 shots on a hole, they simply pick up their ball and move to the next, ensuring that pace of play is maintained and no child feels discouraged.
05Local Leagues
To make participation as easy as possible for families, clubs are organised into local leagues consisting of four to six clubs. This local cluster model reduces travel time and helps build a sense of community between neighbouring junior sections.

GolfSixes LeagueFor participants & parents
GolfSixes League is designed to be a welcoming, team-based experience for every junior — and parents are an essential part of making that happen. Here is everything you need to know about your child's involvement and your role on matchday.
The player pack
Every junior who joins a league receives an official GolfSixes League Player Pack. This sense of "wearing the kit" is essential for fostering team identity and pride.
Team shirt • Water bottle • Bag tag • Pack of Titleist balls Your role as a chaperone
Parents are a vital part of the GolfSixes League experience. Rather than being passive spectators, parents are encouraged to act as chaperones.
This involves walking the course with players, helping with basic scoring, and most importantly offering positive encouragement during the round.
Mental wellbeing - Unleash Your Drive
The programme is deeply integrated with the Unleash Your Drive initiative. Players use scorecards featuring "wellbeing squares" to help them reflect on their mental state during the game. This teaches juniors how to manage their emotions and build resilience, skills that are invaluable both on the golf course and in their wider education.
