The club-based sessions are designed specifically for beginners and focus on fun, games, core golf skills and mental toughness tools. Children use Player Trackers, take part in challenges across putting, chipping, pitching and long game, and are gradually introduced to the golf environment – and the course where appropriate.

How We Do This
Unleash Your Drive in Schools is a comprehensive, teacher-led programme that runs over six weeks. After years of research, the programme was developed alongside mental toughness experts to bring vital mental strengthening skills to young people. The mental toughness tools are built into the programme across six weeks of fun golf games and a simple introduction to the sport, with adapted equipment that is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Teachers can learn how to deliver using our online training, then follow printed and digital resources for each week, while a built-in evaluation process means you receive a personalised Impact Report, showing how much your group have improved their mental toughness, including how they respond to challenges and setbacks, regulate their emotions under pressure and feel more confident and prepared to take on the opportunities that come their way.

Mental Toughness Tools
9 mental toughness tools built in.
Every lesson in the programme develops one of nine life skills - skills that work in sport, in the classroom, and beyond. Developed with mental toughness experts Yeast Ltd, and proven to increase confidence and commitment by 20%.
Your pupils will complete monitoring before and after taking part in the programme, as we seek to showcase how we have impacted their mental toughness, and ultimately helped to prepare them better for life. Your school will receive a bespoke report like the one below;

We invite ESP’s who share our passion for golf’s potential to change lives to join us in this drive. If you or your organisation believe in the transformative power of golf, we want to hear from you. By becoming a recognised ESP, you play a pivotal role in introducing more children to golf, introducing fundamental golf skills, and teaching them mental toughness tools that extend beyond golf and contribute to their overall wellbeing.

Introduction to Golf: You will introduce more children to the sport, offering them their initial experiences with golf.
Fundamental Golf Skills: You’ll introduce the fundamental skills that lay the foundation for a lifelong love of golf.
Mental Toughness Tools: Equipping pupils with mental toughness tools that not only enhance their golf skills but also contribute to their performance around school and in various aspects of life. Developing mental toughness has a direct link to improving overall well-being.

Additionally, enjoy exclusive partner discounts on Golfway equipment, ensuring you have the best tools to support your sessions. This partnership equips you with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively deliver Unleash Your Drive and its associated benefits.
How To Get Started
We advise you contact your local Regional Development Officer to discuss further, or any delivery plans you have. You can find their contact detailshere.
Apply as an Organisation: If your organisation has multiple individuals interested in delivering the Unleash Your Drive programme, please apply as an organisation. The individual who completes the initial application will serve as the lead contact. This lead contact will be responsible for sharing the unique registration link with any additional individuals within the organisation. The lead contact will receive this unique link following their own registration. Lead contacts will receive updates and requests from the Golf Foundation, and responsible for ensuring the programme is delivered in accordance with our External Service Provider (ESP) Service Level Agreement.
Apply as an Individual: If you are applying independently to become a recognised ESP, please complete our online form. This form helps us assess your qualifications and commitment to effectively support the Unleash Your Drive Programme. It also allows us to identify which projects you will be supporting.
A key part of your delivery will be ensuring you have appropriate equipment to deliver in school and community environments. ESPs will enjoy a 50% discount off our equipment partner Golfway. To qualify for this you need to create an account and tick the ‘apply for a trade/school account’ and the next time you login the prices for our school packs will be reduced by 50%.
For more information, you can access the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for ESPs, which outlines the terms and conditions of your involvement. The SLA formalises your responsibilities and commitment to supporting the Golf Foundation’s mission and programme objectives.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)
This Service Level Agreement (SLA) outlines the terms and conditions for External Service Providers seeking to deliver the Golf Foundation’s Unleash Your Drive Programme. By participating in the delivery of this programme, EPS’s commit to meeting specific requirements to ensure the successful delivery of the programme objectives and support the Golf Foundation’s mission of introducing more children to golf, from all backgrounds and creating golfers.
An Unleash Your Drive External Service Provider (ESP) is an individual or organisation instructed by the programme coordinator (school, community, club coordinator) to deliver the Unleash Your Drive Programme, aimed at introducing children to golf in an inclusive and engaging manner. ESPs encompass a diverse range of professionals, including external coaches, PGA Professional Golf Coaches, Community Golf Instructors, temporary staff, and coaching agency staff.
Section 1: Provider Registration
1.1. Provider Approval: ESPs must register with the Golf Foundation as an approved ESPs before delivering the Unleash Your Drive programme and meet the minimum operating requirements. ESPs will be provided with a unique ESP ID.
Section 2: Minimum Operating Standards
2.1. Compliance: ESPs must observe to the minimum operating standards established by the Golf Foundation. These standards are essential to maintaining programme quality and consistency.
Section 3: Training
3.1. Training Requirement: ESPs must complete the approved training provided by the Golf Foundation that is appropriate to the delivery i.e. UYD in Primary Schools, UYD in Secondary Schools, UYD in Community, UYD in Clubs. This training is designed to ensure that providers are adequately prepared to deliver the Unleash Your Drive.
3.2 The Golf Foundation is committed to ongoing support of ESPs. Any future developments, updates and further CPD will be communicated.
Section 4: Programme Delivery
4.1. Learning Objectives: ESPs are responsible for delivering the programme with the expected learning objectives, including the teaching of the 9 Mental Toughness tools and fundamental golf skills to participants. The school, community groups and clubs are expecting this to be core learning.
4.2. Promotion: ESPs are expected to promote the Unleash Your Drive core offer, which includes Golfway equipment, the core learning opportunities, resources, and training to help develop sustainable projects.
4.3. School Registration: ALL participating schools must register with the Golf Foundation to ensure programme tracking and further support.
Section 5: Monitoring and Reporting
5.1. Impact Monitoring: ESPs must complete an annual impact monitoring process upon request by the Golf Foundation. This process helps assess the effectiveness of the programme and identify areas for improvement.
Section 6: Communication
6.1. Timely Correspondence: ESPs agree to respond promptly to any communication from the Golf Foundation. Timely communication is essential for programme coordination and support.
Section 7: Provider Status
7.1. Status Revocation: The Golf Foundation reserves the right to remove approved deliverer status from any ESP found to be in violation of this SLA or not aligned with the Golf Foundation’s mission.
Section 8: Mission Alignment
8.1. Mission Promotion: ESPs commit to promoting the Golf Foundation’s mission, which is to introduce more children to golf, from all backgrounds, and creating golfers.
By signing below, External Service Providers acknowledge their commitment to complying with the terms and conditions outlined in this Service Level Agreement. Failure to meet these obligations may result in the termination of provider status.
