ABOUT USOur Strategy
Welcome to our 2025-28 strategy.
We are proud of our heritage, created by Sir Henry Cotton and leading amateur players in 1952 and now with nearly 75 years of impact behind us. In that time the Golf Foundation has continued to evolve and adapt as a charity, meeting the needs of young people and the golf industry. We are now excited to launch our new 3-year strategy that supports the mental and physical wellbeing of young people in society as well as ensuring more young people playing golf in the future.
Following consultation with many of our stakeholders inside and outside of golf, we have created a strategy with a focus on four main strategic goals, underpinned by six strategic enablers that will help us deliver measurable long-term outcomes.
Our vision is that every young person can play and enjoy golf, strengthening their mental and physical wellbeing.
We welcome your support in delivering our vision.
England Golf and The Golf Foundation are working in collaboration to provide opportunities to inspire children and young people to play golf through the junior journey.
We are committed to creating sustained participation and love for the game. The journey highlights the steps a young person takes from being a beginner, through to golf club membershi
Through working together and with golf clubs, we can:
• Support clubs to provide a journey for juniors to start and stay in golf
• Provide guidance to support the long term development of the junior section with workforce and volunteer development
• Grow the game, encouraging more young people to take that first swing
