The Hero’s Handshake awards are run by the Young Ambassadors, supported by The Golf Foundation and England Golf. Through these awards we hope to encourage more young people to ‘get stuck into’ the promotion of golf in their local communities, as well as recognising the achievements of the young people who are making a difference at all levels of the game, from local to national..

This year we will be awarding three Hero’s Handshake awards each themed around the Young Ambassador core values which of “Inclusive, Innovative and Inspiring”. Any young person up to the age of 25 can be nominated.

The three awards are:

• The Hero’s Handshake for Inclusion in Golf – This award is for a young person who has displayed a dedication to creating opportunities to make golf more accessible.

• The Hero’s Handshake for Innovation in Golf – This award is for a young person who has helped modernise golf for the better, broken-down barriers or changed perceptions through their innovative ideas and actions.

• The Hero’s Handshake for Inspiration in Golf – This award is for a young person who, through their dedication, passion and personal achievements, has inspired others to engage with golf or overcome challenges.

The awards give well-deserved recognition to those that continually have a positive impact on their golf clubs and communities.
