Fun ideas on how to enjoy golf at home...
During this self-isolation period we have created a weekly golf learning package for youngsters and families....
Golf places strong emphasis on standards of behaviour and, therefore, is an ideal medium through which children and young people can develop personal skills such as honesty, respect, co-operation, perseverance, concentration and self motivation...
Who we are
The Golf Foundation is a registered charity that introduces children to golf, from all backgrounds, creating golfers. We do this because we know that golf can change lives.
What we do
We help young people to ‘Start and Stay’ in golf by making their introduction to the game fun, innovative, inspiring, inclusive and enriching.
We take simplified versions of the game to schools and community groups, introduce children to golf clubs, teach playing and transferable life skills, and enable youngsters to keep playing and enjoying the game for years to come.
Our team encourages children to enjoy all the health, social and playing benefits of golf, while supporting golf clubs to create safe, inclusive and welcoming environments for the benefit of all.
Why we do it
We believe that golf is a game that belongs to everyone, and should be made accessible to all young people to enjoy, irrespective of their gender, background or ability.
Golf can change lives for the better; an ideal game for helping children to develop valuable personal skills such as confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing – qualities that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. The game can also help youngsters to understand the importance of values such as honesty, integrity and respect, as it demands a strong level of personal responsibility.
Our national programmes create a lifelong love and appreciation of golf, and we help protect the future of the game.
