Most Captains choose to support a charity during their year – and we would love for you to consider the Golf Foundation, either as your main charity or to receive a percentage of the amount raised throughout the year.
Golf is a fantastic way to raise important funds for many charities, but it doesn’t often give back to our sport. Juniors are the future and it’s imperative that we maintain a pipeline of youngsters in the game.
Everything you can donate will help us introduce children to golf across clubs, communities and schools, and make an impact on the wellbeing of kids.

Your money will be invested directly into our projects and initiatives. Here are just some of the things we do:
1 – Unleash Your Drive in Schools: Our six week programme was launched in September 2023 and is already seeing a huge impact. The mental toughness tools at the heart of the programme are changing lives, and we’ve seen a 20% average increase in mental toughness understanding. With more than 1,000 primary schools registering their interest, we need funds to deliver more kit to those who need it most so they can deliver the programme.
2 – GolfSixes League: Our junior offering is ideal for youngsters to get a first taste of competitive golf. Playing in pairs and in a scramble format takes the pressure off, while a high handicap limit keeps it fun for all. We had over 8,000 juniors take part in 2024, and the GolfSixes League format has now been rolled out worldwide in more than 25 countries. Funds can go towards kit for more clubs, to help us deliver a better product as we continue to grow.
3 – Junior Hubs: Alongside England Golf, we are taking the lead on the junior pathway from school through to competitive teenage golf. Our Junior Hubs will have access to an online content platform filled with helpful ideas and programmes, while our team and England Golf’s team are out visiting clubs to help them grow their junior section. Your donation can help us grow the team and get to more clubs, directly helping the game to grow at a junior level.
4 – Unleash Your Drive in Communities: We work with a range of partners to reach underserved communities, and help deliver golf in a variety of ways. Our success at Bring It On Brum is a great example of what we do – Birmingham as a city has the highest levels of children and young people eligible for benefit-related free school meals in England, with over 70,000 entitled to support. 26,000 young people engaged in 277 holiday clubs in 2021, and we started working with the group to engage in Holiday Activity & Food camps. We have now reached more than 2,000 youngsters across 28 local youth and faith groups – 70% of those reached in 2023 were from an ethnically diverse background, while 45% were girls and 14% had a disability. Any funds we receive help us reach more youngsters and get free kit to local delivery partners.

Our Unleash Your Drive Final is back in 2025, and you can be part of it.
We are asking clubs to host Unleash Your Drive Competitions in 2025, with the winner from each club going onto our leaderboard. The top players will then be invited to take part in the Unleash Your Drive Final in August, where the top three will earn a spot in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am
As a Captain, you have another entry route too – the top earning Club Captains before 30 June 2025 will also be invited to take part in the Unleash Your Drive Final. So start fundraising for the Golf Foundation too – every bit you raise helps us to change lives.
