Ryder Cup Tommy looks to inspire schools in Cheshire

Tommy Fleetwood wants to get Cheshire school kids golfing… and is asking PGA Professionals to join in to support Cheshire schools.

The Golf Foundation’s national Primary Schools Golf Programme has enjoyed a fantastic additional boost in Cheshire thanks to the Cheshire Golf Union (CGU) which has pledged funding so the Golf Foundation can take golf into 10 extra schools in the area this Autumn, a number set to increase if we can gather momentum for the local project.

In this clip here filmed just before The Ryder Cup in the USA, Cheshire’s own Tommy Fleetwood asks PGA Professionals in his home county to join in with the Golf Foundation and help kids from all backgrounds to start golf in school.

He’s a great supporter of golf in Cheshire and we wish Tommy and the team all the best for The Ryder Cup this week!

The Schools Golf Programme offers five weeks of PGA Professional coaching in a school using the Golf Foundation’s new Golfway equipment.

If you are a PGA Pro and want to get involved, contact Andy Leigh at [email protected]

This support from the Golf Foundation is part of a national drive to embed golf into 1,000 new primary schools by 2026.
