Tickenham GC in Bristol, received the Burroughs Award in recognition of the club’s success in encouraging young people with disabilities, particularly autism to enjoy golf.
The club first started to deliver golf sessions in youth clubs to young people with a range of disabilities, but then decided to host an autism focussed group which grew from strength to strength. Since the sessions began, the club has engaged with over 70 young people with varying disabilities and some of the participants have now joined as members of the golf club.
