Biggest Golf Lesson raises £10K for NHS

The Golf Foundation loved the World’s Biggest Golf Lesson which was staged live on May 5 by so many PGA Professionals.

Congratulations to all the coaches who gave lessons to more than 50,000 pupils of all ages via Instagram, including many juniors, helping to raise more than £10,000 for NHS charities by sharing their putting expertise. (See more on this new World Record at www.worldsbiggestgolflesson.com).

Many of the PGA Coaches taking part are good friends of our charity. We really appreciate all our PGA Pro’s for helping to keep families healthy, active and loving their #GolfatHome in recent weeks. One of our charity’s Trustees Evie Carter, herself a dedicated PGA Professional, held her own entertaining and well-received lesson as part of the World’s Biggest Golf Lesson.
This project was the brilliant idea of Paul Ring, of Sharpshooters Junior Golf, and Gavin Grenville-Wood, of Leadbetter Kids Golf, with a number of Golf Foundation colleagues from the PGA ranks among the founding group, including: John Glenn of Colour Path Golf, Tom Hefford from Golf Cubs and Aaron Lansberry of AL Golf Junior Academies.

Gavin Grenville-Wood described the lesson as “pretty awesome”, while top junior coach Stuart Disney said: “Magnificent. So proud to be part of it, my congratulations and thanks.”

Thank you to every PGA Coach involved. It was also great to hear of many young people and families joining in with this – please let us know if your putting game has been inspired by this unique golf lesson. Well played everyone!
