Girls Golf Leadership Programme
The National Girls Leadership Programme is part of a wider retention philosophy for the Golf Foundation which seeks to keep more girls in the sport and offer more girls genuine pathways in personal development as they move into adulthood.
The Girls Golf Leadership programme is targeted at girl golfers aged 13-21 who currently volunteer in golf, who would like to become Leaders in the sport and/or have an interest in a career within the Golf industry. The programme has been inspired by the Women’s Sports Leadership Academy (WSLA) which had a significant impact on Golf Foundation and England Golf staff who have completed this.
As a signatory of The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter, we are committed to empowering girls to become future leaders within the golf industry. We believe this programme provides the ideal mechanism to help achieve this.
The first online conferences took place in Spring 2021 and you can read more about them here. We were delighted that a diverse blend of the golf industry’s most dynamic voices joined the training and inspired a group of girl conference delegates. One guest speaker was Inci Mehmet, Ladies European Tour player and Sky Sports presenter, you can watch a clip from Inci Mehmet's presentation below.
If golf club staff and volunteers are interested in this programme and encouraging applications from their girl golfers, please fill in, and submit this expression of interest form.
