Georgia Hall visits youngsters at The Open

The British Open champion popped by the Golf Foundation stand at St Andrew’s to share her tips with the visiting kids.

British Open champion Georgia Hall was a popular visitor to the Golf Foundation stand at St Andrew’s, as she swung by to share her experiences and top tips with the visiting kids.

Throughout the week, special guests attended the Swingzone at The Open, with Rick Shiels, Nick Dougherty and even Nicola Sturgeon all making an appearance. You can read more about a busy week of action here.

The headline act, though, saw Georgia Hall hit a few balls with a group of kids on the stand, before taking on our special 30 second challenge, and signing a few (a lot!) autographs for the children.

“I love meeting the younger generation,” Hall said. “It’s fun playing kids games and with the special equipment on stand. I really enjoyed it!

“I started when I was 7, and I didn’t really have things like this when I was growing up. It’s so important to grow the game, inspire the next generation, and just to get kids to meet other friends. Sometimes it’s hard with PlayStations and the rest of it these days, so it’s good to get kids out and having fun. They had a lot of fun today, and I think I enjoyed it as much as they did!”
