Montgomerie Award jointly awarded to Katie Amos & Ben Lavender, two young volunteers from Northampton GC.
Katie and Ben both joined Northampton Golf Club at the age of 12. They started playing golf regularly together, became good friends, and have grown in confidence since volunteering at Northampton GC. They are now the club’s Boys & Girls Captains respectively. (Katie is also the Northampton County Girl Captain for 2019.) They have committed a significant amount of time volunteering at the golf club to help grow the junior section. Their efforts have included: attending a Box of Tricks workshop, setting up and contributing to the club’s Facebook page, organising the club’s Junior Charity day raising £400 for a local hospice, creating new ideas for competitions and helping at club events and GolfSixes League fixtures.
