Thank you for following ‘The Big Give’

The Golf Foundation team wishes to thank everyone who donated to our fundraising campaign – or learned about our charity’s work – during ‘The Big Give’ #ChristmasChallenge20 this week.

Over seven days that finished at midday Tuesday 8th December, the #ChristmasChallenge20 enabled our national charity to fundraise for projects that support children and young people to develop life skills, look after their physical and mental health, and improve their social well-being.

Every £1 donated was doubled through Big Give matched fundraising, and with the help of many golf and sport lovers we raised a fantastic £3,760 over the week via social media and personal communication.

The Golf Foundation is the national charity that provides life changing opportunities to young people using the power of golf. All funds will be spent to help youngsters who will benefit directly through a community golf initiative.

Vanessa Bell, Head of Fundraising, said: “Our team is aware that 2020 has been a challenging year for all families, so every donation has been hugely appreciated whatever the size. Thank you all so much! Even those who simply took a look at our material and learned a bit about the Golf Foundation, that’s all great news.

“Getting kids to have a go at golf when they would never dream of touching a golf club has opened the door to a whole new world for many. And from that first touch, we want to welcome more new youngsters into golf so that they can enjoy all the physical and mental health benefits of the game. Your donations have helped this good cause.”

Vanessa added: “We would also like to thank The Big Give for powering the Christmas Campaign and to our matched funding pledgers, including The Reed Foundation, for supporting the matched funding pot.”

Readers will receive further details about how young golfers will benefit from this funding in the time ahead.
